Jazz
The RCHS Jazz Ensemble meets 2-3 mornings per week (from 7am-8am) and performs at many concerts and community events. The Jazz Band goes on the spring band trip every year and is often called upon by the community to represent the school and the county. Anyone interested in playing in the Jazz Ensemble should be able to commit to attending all scheduled rehearsals and concerts. Extra sectionals and rehearsals may be added at the directors discretion. Although we generally follow normal instrumentation ALL students are encouraged to audition. Auditions are held at the end of marching band season. One of our biggest events is the Coffee House – in which we serve a spaghetti dinner and invite many local musicians to perform and the Jazz Ensemble performs as the finale for the evening.
